I never would have ever dreamed I'd be a donor mother
My child gave the miracle of life to save that of another
My beautiful baby girl, gave all she had to give
It was the only choice we had, another child should live
My child fought valiantly to survive, for I know she wanted to stay
But the Lord, His plan fulfilled, it was her Heaven's Day
So from the depths of my soul I searched for an answer Why
Why did this happen, Why did my child have to die?
Then I was answered, as the angels came to me
My child was to save others, this was her destiny
Though this course, I would not have ever chosen to take
I had to look beyond the agony, this horrendous heartache
And think of the parents who were at bedside in prayer
For their child needed a gift and this gift we could bear
How could we be selfish and allow Marissa's Miracle to end?
Another child's life, on our decision, depend
There are four who received Marissa's Gift of Life
I think of them each morning, and pray for them each night
I pray that their prayers continue to be fulfilled
Marissa's Miracle continue, let this be God's Will
I am comforted by the thoughts of her recipients new health
For there is nothing more precious, no greater wealth
Marissa is my hero, my beautiful child has accomplished much
For in this lifetime, what greater accomplishement than another's heart to touch
My child is an eternal Gift, she waits for me above
And on this earth, lives Her legacy of Eternal Love

This is a poem written for
Our Marissa
by the aunt of her heart's recipient.
It comes from Her heart and it is beautiful. Thank You Carla.

Going through things I
don't understand
Wondering why God doesn't
lend a hand

Reaching out to anyone
in sight
Hoping that someone could
help make things right

With tears in my eyes and
a hole through my soul
Holding on to my faith becomes
my life's goal

The moment I begin to
lose hope
I am emotionally and physically
at the end of my rope

God looked down on me and
answered my prayers
Proving to me he still
truly cares

God had help I want the
world to know
Marissa Myers was the
Star of that show

She gave so generousally
without a regret
Her miracle will live on
I'll never forget

Marissa you dear little
angel above
I'm sure you must know
me and feel my love

When I go to heaven you're
first on my list
Aunt Carla owes you

Forever Grateful
Aunt Carla

This is another gift from Carla. A gift to Marissa's Mommy.

Your angel went to heaven
With a smile so big and bright
Because you see there are four people
She watches over through the night

When she was on her way to heaven
She turned to wave good-bye
She looked over the world
One last time and she began to cry

There were little children sick in their beds
Family by their side
She wondered why her organs
Were going along for the ride

She didn't need them anymore
And they could save someone from pain
So she sent a message from heaven
By whispering in the rain

She said, "Mommy I know you love me
And you want to do what's right
Donate my organs, mommy, save these
children from this fight."

Her words reached her mommy's heart
And she knew without a doubt
The room was very loud
So she began to shout

"Please be quiet everyone
There's something I have to say
My baby's gone to heaven
But her organs are going to stay

She can give the gift of life
I know that would make her proud"
When her little angel heard those words
She began to sing out loud

She is very happy
In that place way up above
To know that mommy receives her messages
And can still feel her love

Celine Dion ~ My Heart Will Go On

Every night in my dreams
I see you, I feel you
That is how I know you go on.

Far across the distance
and spaces between us
You have come to show you go on.

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more, you opened the door
And you're here in my heart,
and my heart will go on and on.

Love can touch us one time
and last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone.

Love was when I loved you,
One true time to hold on to
In my life we'll always go on.

Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more, you opened the door
And you're here in my heart,
and my heart will go on and on.

You're here, there's nothing I fear
And I know that my heart will go on.
We'll stay, forever this way
You are safe in my heart
and my heart will go on and on.
